Synopsis

The Black Hole Trilogy opens as the TMNT and Ninjara set off with the alien Sarnath and his pet Quark for a vacation in Dimension X. But as they examine a black hole at close range, their ship is attacked by the Imperial Aerwyl fleet, who have mistaken them for the Nova Posse. Ship destroyed, Sarnath plunged into the black hole, and the turtles float in space, doomed. But Nova Posse arrives, destroys the Imperial ship, and brings the turtles aboard.

Nova Posse explains the situation: Emperor Mazool is causing havok in a galaxy thrown into terror by the appearance of a black hole. The Posse are on their way to Stump Asteroid, where all the volunteers are converging to prepare for all-out war with Mazool. The ship lands on the Asteroid and the whole group disembarks and is happily greeted by Stump and Sling. Donatello heads off to the bathroom--but a blue light appears, a pair of ghostly hands reaches for him....and Leonardo enters to find no trace of his brother.

Donatello finds himself in a blank realm, watching the Sons of Silence and the Turnstone commune. To his surprise, the Turnstone addresses him. Back on Stump Asteroid, a frantic Leonardo wants an all-out search for Donatello carried out, but the Turtles are summoned to a meeting with all the fighters. Trap explains the situation, and the turtles willingly join in the action as Nova Posse heads off to do away with Mazool.

Donatello watches as Sarnath's ship and the Aerwyl ship it fought fall into the blank realm, and realizes he is INSIDE the black hole. The three try to fight, but the Turnstone seems to foil them, and when the Aerwyl fighter seizes the Turnstone, he is instantly killed. Outside the black hole, the Nova Posse attack Mazool's HQ, but are forced to retreat without the victory.

As Donatello holds the Turnstone in his hands, feeling all the power of the universe at his grip, the black hole grows larger. Sarnath tries to reason with him, but he is oblivious. Sarnath is forced to punch him and take the Turnstone from him. As the Nova Posse and the other fighters battle for their lives, Sarnath uses the Turnstone's power to banish the Sons of Silence, send Donatello onto the Posse's ship, blow up the Aerwyl ships, send the fighters back to Mazool, and close the black hole, effectively ending the entire struggle.
